Prof. Shakespeare is a trained and practicing lighting designer for theatrical productions and architectural projects who has taught lighting interior space courses in our department as an adjunct instructor since 2001. Through her Bloomington-based firm, Shakespeare Lighting Design, she consults on lighting and design issues for theaters, dance studios, universities, residences, stores, restaurants and houses of worship. Prof. Shakespeare received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Fresno and master’s in lighting design from California State University, Fullerton.
Prof. Shakespeare teaches lighting design courses in our department as well as the Department of Theater and Drama. In addition to Indiana University, she has taught at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Smith College and the University of Massachusetts.
